Criteria, rates, and what the money cannot buy

Published in full, because an unpublished rate card is an invitation to negotiate and a published one is a rule.

Who is eligible

Three categories only: professional indemnity brokers and insurers, medico legal solicitors, and training providers. Nobody else, in any circumstances.

Not eligible: clinics, practitioners, practitioner groups, pharmacies supplying aesthetic products, product manufacturers and distributors, device manufacturers, marketing and lead generation agencies, review platforms, and any business that treats patients.

The criteria

  1. A verifiable identifier on a public register, checked by us at the point of entry: an FCA firm reference number, an SRA number or the equivalent, or a Companies House number together with an Ofqual qualification number where a regulated qualification is claimed.
  2. A UK registered address, published in the entry.
  3. No claim in the entry that we cannot verify against a public source. Entries carry facts, not adjectives.
  4. Agreement that the entry may be removed at any time, without refund, if a stated fact ceases to be true or if the company becomes the subject of editorial coverage.

The rates

An entry is 480 pounds for twelve months, the same for every entrant in every category. There is no premium tier, no featured position and no negotiation, because a rate that can be negotiated is a rate that can be used to buy something else.

Newsletter sponsorship is 350 pounds per issue for a single labelled line of up to thirty words with one link. The line is marked as a sponsor line and is separated from the editorial content by a rule and a label.

Both rates are published here and applied uniformly. If you have been quoted a different figure by anybody, it did not come from us.

What the money cannot buy

  • A word of any verification procedure, in any direction.
  • A mention, a link or a reference in any article, index or checklist.
  • Position. Entries are alphabetical and always will be.
  • A rating, a score, a badge, a mark or an award. None exists to sell.
  • Removal or alteration of any editorial content.
  • The subscriber list, in whole or in part, or any subscriber's details.
  • Advance sight of an article, or the right to comment on one before publication.
  • An exclusive category, so that no entrant can pay to exclude a competitor.

What we will refuse

An application will be refused, without further explanation, where the identifier does not check out, where the applicant is in an ineligible category, where the entry text makes a claim we cannot verify, or where the applicant asks for anything on the list above during the application.

Applications go through contact. Expect to be asked for the identifier first, before anything else is discussed.

The verification note

One email a month. What changed in the registers and the law, what a new rule actually requires, and one procedure written out in full. No clinic is ever recommended and none can pay to appear.

We store your address and nothing else. Sponsorship of this newsletter is labelled and sold at a published rate, and it cannot influence a single word of verification guidance. Unsubscribe at any time.
